Last time I picked the too large section, I narrow down the section to the arboretum and culture & entertainment area such as concert hall, museum, and monumental center.
I have a 25 year plan to rebuild this section with new & green technology (solar panel, Meglev generation,green roof, etc to save energy )also kinetic tech.
for future and to make structures harmonized with arboretum also.
According to my scenario or future, I am considering change of Energy, society, technology, economy, ecology, and political situation.
Present, arboretum has only tons of plants, pond, benches, and several beverage vending machine.
In future, there will be a communal zone. In this zone, there is a green bin which has bunch of tables and chairs, café and bakery inside. Tables, chairs, bench are also outside.
Short work week allow people spend their own free time. People can gather in communal zone and work together freely. They also can enjoy nature at arboretum and appreciate culture & art next to the arboretum.
Arboretum rent land to people uses it for micro-farming on green house. There is vending machine selling essential items for self farming and gardening.
At Arboretum, flea market is held once a month so they can socialize and exchange or sell the foods, flowers, plant, plant seed, etc.
Present, there are no restaurants, café, shop around here. People actually entertain here and have to move out to other place if they want to eat, drink, hang out more.
Also when people go to see a concert, they usually go with some else than going alone. So the places to hang out such as café or ice ream shop are needed.
Middle class raising that there are more consumers than before.
New building use clean energy and get energy from natural resource to save money.
I will keep the aesthetic of original buildings.
There is a card which allows you use in this section. Once you redeem the card you can use it everywhere only in this section.
People can use this card to buy ticket for using tram, museum, and concert. Also can use it when buy foods and beverage at store and purchasing at vending machine.
Tram operates from apartment zone to the arboretum. It allows conveying 20-30 people at one time like a bus. Even though it doesn’t work frequently to save electric energy (working every 30 min), this section is able to walk from place to place. In tram, they advertise current show and event on screen. People can purchase ticket on touch screen in the tram.

ReplyDeleteVery nice formatting and graphic sense, clean isolation and explanation. I like most of your direction except for the interest in completely rebuilding the zone. I recommend that you look into keeping as much of the existing structures that warrant merit and potential for preservation. If not, build your case on how you would break down the buildings, reuse their materials and phase it so that the local labor force would be part of their own cultural and infrastructural reconstruction. You need sketches and low shots to give an idea of what your proposing and the nature of your structures your suggesting. I would also visit a few variations on master plans. Try some graphics that follow along the lines of the modernism in society you are proposing. Also, if the people have all of the spare time, you could indicated ways in which people would donate their time to people in need as a perk to elevate their standing in the community by getting a better view, more days off, special meals, etc. Big projects need the close ups to give a warmer sense of the daily life.
